Yobe State is a state in northeastern Nigeria and was created on August 27, 1991 when carved out of Borno State. The state borders the Nigerian States of Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, and Jigawa. It also borders Diffa and Zinder Regions in the Republic of Niger. Its capital is Damaturu.
Yobe State is nicknamed “Pride of the Sahel”.
